You must be 18 years and over.

The requirements vary depending on the type of account:

  • Individuals:

    1. Completed the PayWise App sign-up form
    2. Two (2) valid forms of ID
    3. Selfie holding a valid ID
    4. Proof of address
    5. Proof of income
    6. Proof of bank account*
  • Business:

    1. Completed the PayWise App sign-up form
    2. Copies of the following:
      • Certificate of Incorporation
      • Articles of Incorporation
      • Notice of Address
      • Notice of Directors
      • Notice of Secretary
      • Proof of Address of all the Shareholders, Directors, Secretary
      • Two pieces of ID for all the Shareholders, Directors, Secretary and contact persons
      • Form 45 – Return of Beneficial Interest in Shares of Company
    3. Proof of bank account*
  • Sole Trader:

    1. Completed the PayWise App sign-up form
    2. Copies of the following:
      • Certificate of Registration
      • Two pieces of ID of sole proprietor and officers of the business
      • Proof of address for the business and sole proprietor
    3. Proof of bank account*
  • Partnership:

    1. Completed the PayWise App sign-up form
    2. Copies of the following:
      • Certificate of Registration
      • Two (2) pieces of ID of each partner and any key officers in the business
      • Proof of address of each partner
      • Proof of address of the business
    3. Proof of bank account

*Proof of bank account is only required if funds are to be transferred from your PayWise account to your bank account or vice-versa. You may have more than one bank account.

There are two stages to the registration process:

  • Stage 1:

    1. Install the PayWise App
    2. On the sign-in screen, click ‘User Register’
    3. Enter your name, email address, phone number, referral number (optional), and user pin
    4. An SMS message containing a code will be sent to your mobile number
    5. Enter the code to confirm your mobile number
    6. Upload one (1) form of ID
    7. You are now signed-up (Level 1)
  • Stage 2:

    1. Go to the Home page in the app
    2. Click on ‘Submit Application for Next Level’
    3. For individuals, select ‘Individual’
    4. For businesses, select ‘Business’
    5. Complete the registration form and upload your documents
    6. Click ‘Save’ to submit your application
    7. You will receive an email to complete the compliance requirements
    8. Complete the compliance form
    9. Your application will be reviewed, and you will be notified within 24 hours
    10. Successful applications can perform more transactions to a higher value

 

Money can be added through a PayWise agent, card, wallet-to-wallet transfer, or by bank transfers.

Payments are made using your wallet balance or directly from your card. Additionally, you can make a payment at an agent.

Your payment limit is dependent on your account level.

  2. Select Agent Locations from the dropdown menu
  3. Select Agent List to locate an agent

  1. Visit an agent
  2. Give the agent the mobile number and payment amount
  3. The agent will process the payment
  4. The amount paid (less PayWise fees) will be credited to the PayWise account

The PayWise app uses mobile phone numbers (11 digits, e.g., 18681234567) which are linked to PayWise accounts to make payments. The mobile phone number is used to make wallet-to-wallet payments and pay to a wallet at an agent.

Wallet-to-wallet payments are processed immediately. Payments made at an agent may be processed immediately or take a bit longer.

Card payments are held for 5 business days. During this time you will not have access to the funds. You can view the transaction by clicking on History and your Account Balance. After the 5 days, the funds will be released and added to your Available Balance.

We are working to reduce the hold period from 5 days.

Use the app bank transfer feature to transfer funds from your wallet to your bank account. Bank transfers take 1 – 2 business days.

No. You can accept card payments from within the app or using our payment links.

You can send a payment link from within the app using the Request payment function or log in to your account online and click on the Payment Link option.

Although the cash out feature is on the app we have not implemented the option. We plan to do so in the near future and will advise you accordingly.

The Scan and Pay feature allows users to scan a QR code with the PayWise app and make payments. A QR code can be generated from within the app or by using our API for website integration.

 

Yes, we have an API and WordPress plugin that allows your website or mobile app to request a payment directly from the PayWise app.

Of course. You can use the app to generate and download a QR code which can be inserted into images and your social media pages.
